The Grand Cru Society

The Society plans approximately eight events between September and July each year.

The opportunity to taste and compare high-quality wines is important in our events planning. Some of these wines are in short supply or difficult to obtain. We conduct four structured tastings each season. They are planned on an ad hoc basis, being somewhat determined by our cellar stock and opportunities which may exist through the Societyâs relationships with the Wine Trade.

The four other functions are traditional events, which take place each season:

We attempt to offer a variety of functions which appeal to people with varying wine knowledge and at various cost levels. One does not require an extensive knowledge of wines to benefit from the society; wine novices need not be intimidated. That said, many of our tastings will appeal to more knowledgeable wine consumers.

Non-members are welcome at all functions, for a surcharge. When we take wine from our Societyâs cellar, we levy a premium to non-members. (Our cellar currently contains over 300 bottles, valued at $13,000 - and growing.)

If this introduction has sparked your interest, please consider joining our Society. The annual dues (October 1 - September 30), are only $40. Includes spouse or significant other at member rates.
